Dear HKUST SuperPOD Trial Users,

I am writing to follow up on the email from the Provost Office dated 19-Jun-2024, about the conclusion of the free trial period of HKUST SuperPOD on 31-July-2024 and the transition to a production environment with an associated charging scheme. Please find the updated information below:

1. New job submissions to the HKUST SuperPOD free trial environment will be disabled at 00:00 on 16-Aug-2024. All executing or queueing jobs will either be terminated or cleared at that time.

2. Originally, we expected the HKUST SuperPOD production environment would only be ready in September. With a special arrangement, we anticipate the service can be resumed by midday on 16-Aug-2024, at which point charging will start taking effect as explained in:

3. Please note that existing accounts in the HKUST SuperPOD free trial environment will NOT be automatically activated in the production environment. To ensure seamless transition, PIs must explicitly confirm their intention to continue using the HKUST SuperPOD paid service by contacting us at spodsupport@ust.hk.

4. Charging for usage allows us to further optimize the queueing scheme of HKUST SuperPOD. Please refer to the following for more details about the new queueing scheme:
